this painting is very close to my heart.steffi was a rescue dog she was owned by a tramp and when i got her from him for 20 pounds she was only a stone in weight and covered in glue . after a bath (she was dark brown all over ) an abscessed tooth out,an ear infection sorted .and lots of food her ears pricked up and she piled on nearly a stone a week........ she was my constant companion,protector and best friend for 3 years.little did i know but she was also riddled with cancer and passed away as it was untreatable.my heart broke the night she died .it took me three years to paint her portrait as i just could,nt face it .i,m glad i did though .the hardest part for me was her eyes ,the same eyes that pleaded to me to save her. i hope people love her portrait as much as i loved her..........................now the tears .........................

This is a beautiful painting, and I feel for you, I had a cat that I had for 8 years, and she had a tumor, broke my heart when she died, but it is good to think of the good memories, I love the painting, it's beautiful, I wish I could paint like that : )

hya dave .....just slap the paint on ,thats all i do .....allways seems to work .just remember to start with the light colours first ......................

she was suffering and u saved her. u gave her home, care and love - i think thats enough for u to be proud of urself that u gave her everything what u could :) she is in a good place now, im sure about it :) :hug:
